Daily effects of face-to-face and cyber incivility via sadness, anger and fear

Many workers are subjected to incidents of rudeness and ignorance at work. Emerging evidence suggests that exposure such incivility has an immediate impact on people’s well-being commitment. In this article we contribute nascent area enquiry by investigating the role discrete emotions in explaining how translates into detrimental daily consequences, examining whether varies depending incivilities occur during face-to-face versus online interactions. a diary study 69 workers, find pronounced workers’ exhaustion turnover intention, is mediated increased feelings sadness anger, but not fear. contrast, cyber only affects emotional as result increases sadness. Our findings provide insight mechanisms effects workplace divergent incivility.
